Portuguese Brands Explore New Opportunities in China’s Maternity and Baby Market
The online seminar jointly organized by CENIT and CBME has concluded with great success!
On May 10, 2024 (Beijing time), the Online Seminar on China’s Children, Baby and Maternity Market – Portugal Session, co-organized by CENIT – Centro de Inteligência Têxtil and CBME, came to a successful conclusion.
This session aimed to help Portuguese brands and companies better understand the fast-growing Chinese market, especially in the field of children’s wear in China. The goal was to support more efficient and successful Chinese market entry for baby brands.
More than 20 professionals attended the seminar and found the insights highly valuable.

Market Insights and Strategic Guidance
Celia Gu, General Manager of Informa Markets, shared an in-depth overview of China’s economic landscape.
She highlighted key opportunities in the children, baby, and maternity market, especially in the children’s apparel segment.
Her presentation covered market trends, subcategory performance, consumer behavior, and retail channels.
These insights addressed many of the concerns Portuguese brands have when planning Chinese market entry for baby brands.

Winston Zhu, Co-founder and Partner of Junlan/Shanghai Baby, provided an expert analysis of the children’s wear sector.
He spoke about the current market status, macroeconomic environment, and local consumer preferences.
Winston also gave specific suggestions for Portuguese children’s wear in China, helping brands build strategies for success.

Jingwen Ji, General Manager of CowBuk, shared her experience in promoting overseas children’s wear brands and attracting high-end customers in China. She also analyzed and summarized the demand for high-end children’s wear brands in the Chinese market, welcoming more overseas clothing brands with high quality and good design to enter China.
